Amazing grace! How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed. Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come; ’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. The Lord has promised good to me, His Word my hope secures; He will my Shield and Portion be, As long as life endures. Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace. The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, The sun forbear to shine; But God, who called me here below, Will be forever mine. When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’d first begun. Amazing grace, How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind, but now I see Was blind, but now I see

Transitions in Grace is a 5 song album of mantras and prayers for everyone experiencing and supporting those going through life transitions and the death process.

Death is the ultimate transition and something we will all experience. Many of us don't have the tools, practices or support to navigate this journey.

Songs are a bridge, they are both the river and the boat as they bring us across time, through feelings and emotions and have the ability to powerfully transport us to a graceful and more embodied place.

This album is for everyone and in remembrance of the following loved ones..

Transitions in Grace is comprised of 4 mantras and recited songs that encompass traditions from around the world. This album offers support for life's many transitions, including the end of life transition.

There is also an introductory track explaining the beliefs and practices around the mantras and prayers. This is to offer guidance and help everyone place their intentions into the mantras and prayers.

The first track is the Tibetan Heart Sutra Mantra.

The Heart Sutra Mantra offers us the opportunity to fully transition from and release our current state of being to a different one, of peace and enlightenment. Gone, Gone to the Further Shore, Completely Gone to the Further Shore, So Be It.

Through whatever transition we are undergoing, it is through constant assimilation of Karma and releasing of attachment that will get us there with grace. We are no longer on the shore of where we once stood, once thought, and are instead releasing everything to the idea of change, what is to come, and the eternal perfection in everything. When we integrate the discomfort or fear of change, we are able to release the past and our expectations of it as we move forward within our life paths and experiences.

This track is chanted and accompanied by Norma Jean on the Shamanic Frame Drum.

The second track is the Akaal Mantra from the Sikh and Kundalini Yoga traditions.

This powerful mantra for change and evolution is for a soul to reach oneness or to trust as things change within our lives. Akaal brings perspective with the simple knowing that our souls are the same as the meaning of this chant: deathless, timeless, and undying. Time is a one of the few things that bind us to this life and in releasing our temporal attachment, we can gracefully transition to our next destination.

This track is chanted by Norma Jean and be accompanied by Crystal Bowl Sound Healer, Susie Sands.

The third track is the Mourner's Kaddish from the Jewish tradition.

This prayer is over 2,000 years old and the vibration of these words brings a sense of timelessness. The Mourner's Kaddish is for and recited by the living in remembrance of both loved ones and the eternal nature of the Universe.

As a Jewish woman, Norma Jean's personal experience has taught her much about the traditions of my lineage as well as the ceremonies and rituals that bring comfort during times of change, including endings and death.

Completing the circle of this collection of prayers, the Mourner's Kaddish is for the end, for remembrance, and the Universe or a higher power that encompasses it all. This prayer reminds me of the endlessness that is the possible and the abundance and peace that is bestowed upon us by the Universe if we only remember it is always available to us.

This track is recited and accompanied by Norma Jean who also plays the Tibetan Singing Bowls.

Amazing Grace is the fifth track (and bonus track) of the album.

This collaboration combining traditions from the West and the East further expands the intention of Transitions in Grace and the universal themes of grief and resources to support loss and times of transition, including the end of life transition.

This track is sung by Norma Jean and accompanied by a Harmonium (also known as Indian melodeon or reed organ) played by Kirtan artist and multi-instrumentalist, Julia Dvorak.
